Why add solar to a used minibus?

Minibuses aren't always used every day. Yours could spend days or even weeks parked between journeys.

Even when switched off, onboard electronics and other systems can continue drawing small amounts of power. Over time, the battery can gradually lose charge, increasing the risk that your minibus won’t start when you need it.

Solar battery support provides supplementary charge whenever daylight is available, helping maintain the battery while your minibus is parked.

Discreet solar technology designed for vehicles

We’ve partnered with vehicle solar specialists Genie Insights to bring the technology to Preloved minibuses. Manufactured in the UK by MIPV, the panel uses advanced CIGS (Copper Indium Gallium Selenide) solar technology designed specifically for vehicles.

Lightweight, flexible and glass-free, the panel is bonded to a prepared area of the minibus roof for a discreet, low-profile installation.

At just 3mm thick when bonded, it generates energy from available daylight and is designed to continue working in cloudy and lower-light conditions, so it doesn't rely on bright sunshine.

Do I need to switch the system on?

No. Once installed, the solar battery support system works automatically whenever daylight is available. There’s nothing to switch on and nothing for the driver to remember.
